1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of 20words, a global online English vocabulary learning service operated by Ibtikary. By creating an account, accessing the service, or using any part of 20words, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not create an account or use the service.
2. About 20words
20words provides online English vocabulary learning tools and related educational features. The service may include vocabulary content, learning sessions, progress tracking, review activities, account features, subscriptions, and other features that may be introduced or changed over time.
3. Eligibility
20words is intended for users of different ages. You may use the service only if you are legally permitted to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.
If applicable law requires a parent or legal guardian to consent to your use of an online service, that consent must be obtained before using 20words.
4. User Accounts
Some features require an account. You are responsible for providing accurate information and keeping your login credentials secure.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account and should notify 20words promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
You must not create an account or use the service for fraudulent, abusive, unlawful, or unauthorized purposes.
5. Learning Services
20words is designed to support English vocabulary learning. Learning content and features may be updated, modified, expanded, or discontinued as the service develops.
Your learning progress may be stored and used to provide features such as personalized sessions, review activities, and progress information.
6. Free Trial
20words may provide an eligible user with a 30-day free trial.
The trial does not begin automatically when an account is created. The trial begins after the user confirms their email address and completes the required first activation.
No payment method is required to start the free trial.
Trial availability may be subject to eligibility rules and may not be available repeatedly to the same user where 20words determines that the user has already used a trial or otherwise does not qualify.
7. Paid Subscriptions
After a free trial or when otherwise eligible, users may choose an available paid subscription plan displayed by 20words.
The applicable price, billing period, and other material subscription details will be presented before a paid subscription is purchased.
Subscription access begins only after the payment has been successfully verified and the subscription has been activated by the 20words service.
8. Payments
Payments for paid subscriptions are currently processed through PayPal. 20words does not receive or store your full payment card details through its own service.
Payment transactions may be subject to PayPal's own terms, policies, and procedures. Information returned to 20words by the payment provider may be stored as necessary to process and maintain your subscription.
9. No Automatic Renewal
Paid subscriptions on 20words do not automatically renew unless 20words explicitly states otherwise before a purchase.
When a subscription reaches its end date, continued access to paid subscription features may require a new purchase.
10. Subscription Expiration
A paid subscription ends when its subscription period reaches the applicable end date, unless the service states otherwise.
A free trial ends when the applicable trial period expires. If a trial or paid subscription expires, access to features that require an active subscription may be restricted.
11. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use 20words for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activities.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, databases, or services.
- Interfere with the security, availability, or operation of 20words.
- Copy, scrape, reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit service content except where permitted by law or expressly authorized by 20words.
- Use automated methods to access the service in a way that places unreasonable load on the service or bypasses access controls.
- Misrepresent your identity or your relationship with 20words.
12. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the 20words website, software, interface, branding, original content, and service materials are owned by or licensed to 20words and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the service for its intended personal learning purposes. No ownership rights are transferred to you.
The 20words name, logo, and related branding may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership, or affiliation without prior permission.
13. Third-Party Services
20words may rely on third-party services to provide certain functionality, including authentication, hosting, storage, payment processing, or other infrastructure.
Your use of third-party services may also be subject to their own terms and policies. 20words is not responsible for the independent policies or practices of third-party services outside its control.
14. Educational Disclaimer
20words is an educational vocabulary learning service. Its content and learning tools are provided for educational purposes and are not a guarantee of any particular learning outcome, test result, academic result, or level of language proficiency.
You are responsible for how you use the learning materials and for evaluating whether additional educational resources are appropriate for your goals.
15. Service Availability
We aim to keep 20words available and reliable, but we do not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at every time or in every location.
Service availability may be affected by maintenance, technical issues, third-party services, network problems, security events, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
16. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using 20words at any time. If you no longer want to use the service, you may discontinue your account and use of the service.
20words may suspend or terminate access to an account where reasonably necessary to protect the service, users, or third parties, or where an account violates these Terms or applicable law.
Where appropriate and reasonably possible, 20words may provide notice before taking such action. Certain urgent circumstances may require immediate action.
17. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, 20words is provided on an "as available" and "as is" basis without warranties that the service will meet every particular requirement, operate without interruption, or be free from errors.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits a consumer right or other legal protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, 20words and Ibtikary will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from or related to your use of the service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the service, legal requirements, or our practices.
When material changes are made, we may provide notice through the service or by other reasonable means. The updated Terms will become effective on the date stated in the updated version.
20. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are subject to the laws and mandatory legal requirements that apply to the relationship between you and the operator of 20words.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or restrict any mandatory rights or protections available to you under the laws that apply to you.
Before pursuing a formal dispute where appropriate, you are encouraged to contact 20words so that the issue can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved informally.
Important: This section intentionally does not designate a specific country, court, or arbitration forum. A specific governing-law and dispute-resolution clause should be added only after the operator's intended legal jurisdiction and applicable legal advice have been confirmed.
